My dear Kylie,

You have entered our lives for two months now. Yes, today you are two months old and already you have changed.

It had started out as nothing really. You recently decided you wanted to be held in a new way (vertically upright) and would cry like scream if held otherwise. That's a really challenging hold!

When I finally got you to settle down (with a bottle), I realized you had fallen asleep in my arms, but with your tiny right hand clasping onto the cuffs of my left singlet. It was like you were holding on for dear life, or maybe you felt a closeness to your old man.

I pointed this out to your mum and she smiled.

"Makes you feel like the most important person in the world right?"

I realized she was right. I felt a bond with you. And we realized that whatever new tricks you have learnt in your two months, you began to forget the old ones. You no longer twist your neck and scrunch your face up when you are hungry. Your expression when you suck on the bottle is no longer the "omg milk!" Expression but a more "meh, milk". Your cheeks have filled and your kicks are strong.

I held you in my arms a little longer than I should. But I didn't care because I was having a moment. The realization that I may miss you at this stage one day.

The cakes I bought for your two months can wait a little longer.

Grow up little Kylie. But don't grow up too quickly.

Love,

Dad
