Big Bags!
Saturday at Fudan.
Morning started off pretty badly. Once everyone living in Longyang realised that there's a bus to sch, they all wanted to come along. And I had stomachache in the morning, so was a little late. And guess what? I got 'kan' by sok fong.
Like WTH...if you guys are that eager to go to school, then go by yourselves lah! Wait for me to guide the way for F***? I had to recce by myself the day before using only the map and the bus guide when I'm in the middle of nowhere. Now that I proved that it is possible, EVERYONE wants me to guide? Go to hell man bloody free riders. And even had the courtesy to screw me in the morning when I'm in a very foul mood...Next time I'll leave the directions to another person. CCB.
Lessons was ok...had an interesting lesson about Chinese Fastfood. My grp kept talking about Da Niang Shui Jiao. Haha. Lunch was settled at Fudan at the xiaolong bao shop which the seniors were raving about. (AGAIN, I was giving directions...wth...shld I even bother? I remained pissed thru lunch) It wasn't bad, except that SOME people had fussy taste buds. Lunch there was damn cheap too...mapo tofu rice plus soya milk plus shared the xiaolong baos = 10 per head.
Oh ya...rmb I said the soya milk we drank yesterday was powerful? Turns out this shop's soya milk tops that! Hahaha. That stretch also have a shop selling Gundam kits! Omg...damn cheap sia...I wun mind going to get a kit. But not now...
We then went to Qi Pu Lu (AGAIN), just to shop for our Hiking bag. I needed one after Huangshan...the duffel bag doesn't cut it. Anyway, I'll be going to Beijing and Xi'an for the golden holidays. After much hunting, we decided that 55 Litres was too small and unpadded...we settled for the largest 80 litre bag pack. Wahahaa. I look damn cock.
Rmb my foul mood? One stupid china salesman who kept following and pestering me got a full blast of my fury. I yelled at him to stop disturbing me and stormed away. His reaction, according to Song Yi was like "blur". Yar...so I can get angry de...
Bought the watches for Siying...20 each...wait hor dear...I'll get some for you too later de. A & F cardigan wan anot? =)
And again, I knocked out on the bed without saying goodnight...shucks...

The watches I bought...two for the other house, one for Yiling!
Friday...
Another post...haven't been updating regularly due to several reasons. 1) I'm tired. 2) Things doesn't seem worth updating. But now there are some things to say! Recently read about all the milk scare, namely China-brand milk. DAMN IT man! And I'm in China! No more milk...sobz. Had school on Friday...And I recced my way there on my own. Heard from the seniors about the famous direct bus from my house and wow...I had a seat all the way to a place near school. THe walk to the campus was a little far...maybe 10 mins. But I am sure it will be a great walk when the weather is cooler. Thank god I have a sense of direction! Future GIP students staying at Long Yang Lu take note...take bus service 746. Go to DDmap.com to find the terminal. Then use ur map to topo there. Friday's lesson was about "Modernity in China". But the prof seriously have to wake up his bloody idea. His slides are like chucks of text and we are all damn rusty at writing Mandarin. I gave up and started taking photos instead! Hahhaa. Afternoon was spent at the Shanghai Muesum which was totally boring...I just can't see what's so interesting about pottery.
Since we were at 人民广场, we tried to make our way to Raffles City to meet howard. Btw, this station is bloody huge. And lo and behold, we found this immensely, disgustingly huge shopping centre underground! If I have to take a guess...interconnecting tunnels joined at right angles with each tunnel going str as far as the eye can see. And flanked by shops of course. But our destination was to Nanjing DongLu to shop for winterwear since they are going to Inner Mongolia which is supposed to be damn cold. So I went along and bought one too...I'll need one anyway. They call it 羽绒服. Being the scrooge who is afraid of the cold, I bought a blue one at 198RMB. Damn chor...but Song and Jun got theirs at over 339 and 280...kind of comforting? We had dinner at 东方既白, some fastfood joint where the meals were ex and not too nice...but the soya milk was fantastic. I quote Song "This is the best soya milk I had tasted in China!" There were also some floats, kind of like our Chingay Parade. Everyone was taking photos of the 'pretty girls' except me. I had to dash to the toilet. Ummmm...then home. I was quite worn out by then...crashed into bed with the lights on and my specs on without even saying goodnight. End of Friday.
DAMN OLD CAN!

黄山三日游
Huangshan trip is over...a breakdown of the cost:
Tour Package (Include stay at mountain base: 360)
Entrance Fee for two tourist spots: 85
Walking / Hiking Stick: 2
Poncho: 2
3 days, 2 nights in Huangshan cost about 500 plus if you include the food and other stuff. 10 GIP students went and we all became friends. Nothing like a gruelling torture session to bond ppl. 5 of us opted to conquer the mountain in a day. (ie. climb up and down in a day) while the other 5 opted to stay atop the mountain, paying more for rooms that do not have showers and a chance to glimpse the sunrise. (A very slim chance)
So I ended up making new friends since the rest of my house wanted to stay up there. Wheee...
The mountain was damn high...1.8km up. The damn tour guide we engaged was a lazy bum...kept telling us that we were slow pokes cos he took the cable car up and down..-_- Heck him though...I have my photos! Or rather, we all have our photos!
When we started to climb, the weather was damn hot. After like an hour, the temp dropped...atop the peak, temp plunged to 16.9 with biting winds. Lucky got poncho. And it was like heaven up there...becos of the damn mist! It was everywhere, obscuring the view!
The mist made everything wet. So climbing DOWN became a little dangerous. Those stone steps are a killer. And my army new balance finally cuiz...had to superglue it back halfway down. Damn tiaoz but no choice! I didn't wanna slide down the stairs!
Haha. THe four of them are fun. Had a HTHT session after the climb at night in our rooms. But it turned out that we were too tired, just played cards and talked cock. Damn shiokz. Not that I didn't learn more abt them though. Haha.
Charlene keeps saying 'yao si lor!', Si Ying is hyper (Jumping shots!) Lay Teng is damn sarcastic and Alan...my gay buddy! Hahah.

A 4-year Affair...
Work today was a funny affair. There were only 4 people at my side this morning. Apparently, the Chinese also have holiday moods...MAF is coming! A long weekend!
We'll be going to Huangshan! Initial plan was to take the train there. BUt realised taking a train there is dumb. 12 hours on a hard pvc seat? No way...we returned the tickets and lost about 20-30 dollars. Now we are taking a direct bus there! Move-off timing is Sat at 6am. Will try to take lots of photos there.
But there is still the funny issue of work today. I totally slacked off today and noticed the other 3 ppl were doing the same thing too! Started to surf lame jokes website.
Afternoon was another thing all together. I had to prepare a projector and screen for the migrant school's science teacher. Some guy by the name of Zhu slightly older than me. Seriously, I think this guy is weird.
The projector and screen is meant to be portable since the school is poor. So little old me had to set up the whole thing. The screen and stand alone weighs 12kilos and spans 1.83m (Yar I had the time to measure it.) I din mind, seriously. But I hate it when he started to nitpick the equipment. "Projector's image quite dim..", "Screen too big...". OMG, the damn thing is not for his own entertainment.
The best part came was when we finished up. Obviously, the screen cannot be fittd into a taxi. It is too long. So the kind teacher insisted that he bring the projector home to 'test' with his laptop, while we get the screen sent down to the school next week.
Tell me seriously, what's the logic in that? Or have I lost my common sense?
Oh, did I mention that it was raining heavily at that time? I had to escort him downstairs to wait for a cab that never turned up. Finally, I got pissed at 5.45 and told him to leave the projector at the office before it gets damaged by the rain. And he was VERY VERY reluctant to give it back...geez! What say you?
The final funny thing. (I have been using this funny word far too loosely) The kind teacher thought that waiting in the middle of the cyclist lanes on the roads was the best way to hail a cab. But he was looking at the opposite side of the road. Then, a huge fat motocylist came up and honked at him to get him to move. Surprisingly, the teacher never budged. Brave or oblivious?
The motorcyclist swerved around him, slowed down and without flinching, gave him the middle finger in his face. *clapz* Outstanding!
Oh, and today marks my 4th year with Yiling. Another affair! =) flowers for you my dear?

I realised...
Running up a sleep debt is common nowadays.
Staring at a computer monitor with minimal activity on my part is the norm.
Shanghai's roads are really dusty when the weather is hot and dry.
There are not much pretty gals here to gawk at.
Food is everywhere.
Meals are always interesting.
Don't believe me?

Mooncakes for the company's president and he din want them!
