A Nightmare before Sunday
Another busy day, on a quiet Sunday.
Slept in late today cos I was tired. But ended up getting forcibly awakened by a phonecall from Junwen.
"Eh wake up le. Landlord coming at 11am!"
Yepz, so the landlord came and boy was I surprised. She's damn young but already owns two houses, have a 3 year old son and is working. And she was quite surprised at how clean our house is. (We 5 guys are meticulous ok?) The maintenance crew for the air-con came too, and made a big mess in the balcony trying to fix the compressor. Turns out, the reason our aircon spoilt, was because NO ONE cleared the air filter for over a year. The machine could not take in air and it caused something inside the compressor burn out. Yar...400 over dollars to repair the thing. Luckily the landlord paid for it. The most disgusting part was when we had to wash the filters. Howie and I were damn worried about choking up the pipes. So we had to scoop up the dust...it was like wet and slimy. Yuck. She also made us wash those in our rooms which were also clogged up. Double yuck.
Following that, the two of us went to Xu Jia Hui cos howie gotta bring his aunt's Haier Laptop to fix. Kind of sucks tat the only reason it cannot bootop was due to a loose RAM. And the guy still cannot make it work. Today was also the first time I visited Xu Jia Hui, their version of Singapore's Sim Lim Sq with the people being 4 times more aggressive than in Singapore. Almost felt like they were going to beat you up if you do not respond to them. But spotted some good deals there for accessories. Like mp3 Speakers going for 30RMB...my god.
After that, brought Howie to Shanghai Railway to make his glasses. 100RMB!!! It gets cheaper and cheaper everytime I go! The shop wasn't bad...went there with a name card (IE More discount!) The auntie and uncle were damn friendly, asking us about Singapore and school and stuff. But damn it...my 1000 degrees gave them a shock. Quoted me 200 RMB for the lens alone...haiz. Oh well, I'll probably buy some frames from them. Quite nice.
Explored the whole area after that for a change.
All in all, it was a good day...
