Tick-tock

Yet another weekend have gone by.

I must admit, compared to my life in SG, my weekends are really full. Two days of school and one Sunday spent at my Volunteer Teaching. Ironically, school will disrupt this pattern. Next week will be the last lesson at Fudan Uni cum end of program ceremony. Unluckily, it is set on SUNDAY. So I have to take a break from Ai Xin School next week. And I have exactly three weeks left in Shanghai. We are racing towards an accelerated countdown!

But enough about nostalgia. I have photos! Though they dun do justice to the cold. Fri and Sat was damn er xin with cold temp and strong winds. We saw our hands turn old right in front of us...the sensation...kind of like holding onto a lot of icecubes at once. Extremities went numb, even my toes. Guess boots are a good idea cos my converse don't cut it any more here. Fri lessons was calligraphy, sat was Movie + Excursion to XU Jia Hui. THe movie was damn long..I didn't get much of it initially. Excursion was pretty cool, as in I didn't know shanghai had historical sites, much less one that is like 500 years old. The house of Xus. But the cold wind spolit everything. -_- THere was also this nice Church we went to. =) Ppl there were anal abt photos, so i didn't take any inside.

Dinner ate at 'Zeng Gongfu', the Bruce Lee fast food. Not bad...a bit ex. But this session made my household realize...how SIAO weiqi is! haha. This crazy char bor, our Fudan monitor is totally spontaneous...she is like the self-entertainment express. We had a good abs workout laughing AT her. haha. Cute.

Sunday...after school at Ai Xin, went to Qi pu on my own. Realized how much faster you can spend money there on your own. Anyway, got the stuff ppl asked me to buy, save for Yiling. The best part is...ppl kept giving me weird looks when i buy handbags and other girly stuff...haiz...nvm today bought a 15 RMB polo tee. Spent a bomb, but I'm satisified.

Back to work tmr! IA report is going to be checked by my sup and I'll send it up. Yes!

Fudan University

The weather in Shanghai today was pretty good. We had plenty of sun and blue skies. And the best part was that I didn't waste it by spending the day in the office.

I went to school instead.

Oh, not the old Fudan Campus that I go to every week. But to the newer one at 江湾新校区, just north of the old one.

I went there to be the photographer for the day. It was also Ciba's annual R & D day, meaning there were meetings...lectures about solar panel manufacturing...and of course photography. I had to lug the G7 around along with my own camera.

Anyway, the campus was damn beautiful...more like a park than a school. But I guess when you construct a school in a god-forsaken place, you do have the space to expand. I saw lakes and bridges! Even the canteen building looks good man...

Event ended at 5 and the bus sent everyone to People's Square. From there, I decided to have a nice long walk...went to the 'Shu Cheng' or City of Books plaza. Not bad...but English books are damn ex. The collection of original CDs are good though...and CHEAP for originals. ALso went hunting for crayons for the class this Sunday...found good deals like 6RMB for a box of 36 crayons. Hahhaa. Hope sunday will be better than last week...=)

Ended off walking around Nanjing Dong Lu...quite a relaxing walk, to be alone and no worries.
